Safety Representative Coordinator (Road Works)

Every person goes home in one piece. That is the job on this high-rise residential project in Thohoyandou. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Thohoyandou, Limpopo, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment

• First Aid Level 1 at least
• You write clear reports in English
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight

• ISO 45001 internal auditor course
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
• Fall protection planner training

• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Laptop and data for reporting
• Travel and site allowances
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD

• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
