Safety Representative Coordinator (Road Works)

Every person goes home in one piece. That is the job on this high-rise residential project in Vereeniging. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a high-rise residential project on the Vereeniging side of Gauteng. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment

• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• You write clear reports in English
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites

• ISO 45001 internal auditor course
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
• Fall protection planner training

• Travel and site allowances
• Laptop and data for reporting
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
