Security Dispatcher (Armed Response)

Sharp eyes and a calm voice are the tools of the trade at an armed response control room in Mokopane. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at an armed response control room in Mokopane. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date

• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Matric
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher

• CCTV operator short course
• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
• Call centre work in the past

• Shift allowance for nights
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment

• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
