Security Dispatcher (Armed Response)

Night or day, an armed response control room in Sasolburg never switches off, and neither does your focus on shift. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Sasolburg (Free State). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations

• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)

• Training on the monitoring software
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Path to senior controller or supervisor

• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
