Job Description

Officers look to you on every shift at a mining operation in Centurion. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Centurion, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
Investigate incidents and write reports for the client
Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours
Meet the client weekly on security concerns
Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows

You'll need

Matric, with a security management course a plus
Available after hours for emergencies
At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)
Firm with staff but fair and consistent
Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites

Helpful, not essential

Own reliable vehicle
Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app
Labour relations or basic supervision course
