Job Description

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the food and beverage factory in Pinetown. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
Run vibration, thermography and oil analysis programmes on critical equipment

Must-haves

Able to manage contractors and budgets
Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles

Helpful, not essential

Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
