Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC & Wet Services)

Design it, build it, fix it: mechanical engineering work at the materials handling equipment manufacturer in Stellenbosch. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a materials handling equipment manufacturer in Stellenbosch. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
• Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor

• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting

• Finite element analysis skills
• Experience with SAP PM for maintenance

• ECSA registration fees and CPD paid
• Performance bonus tied to plant availability
• Study support for postgraduate courses
