Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC & Wet Services)

You'll keep the plant reliable and improve how it runs at the paper and packaging mill in Upington. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a paper and packaging mill in Upington. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor
• Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
• Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend

• Able to manage contractors and budgets
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles

• Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
• Project management certificate
