Job Description

A software development house in Cape Town CBD needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a software development house on the Cape Town CBD side of Western Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab

You'll need

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Experience writing automated tests
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
