Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a logistics software company in Khayelitsha. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a logistics software company in Khayelitsha. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Write unit and integration tests before you merge

What you need

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Experience writing automated tests
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build

Extra points for

Docker and Kubernetes experience
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
