Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil Projects)

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Richards Bay. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a main building contractor on the Richards Bay side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
