Shelf Packer (Supermarket, Weekend Shift)

Night fill, weekends or month-end rush, a neighbourhood supermarket in Fourways needs extra hands. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a neighbourhood supermarket on the Fourways side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Collect trolleys from the parking lot
• Weigh, bag and price fruit and vegetables
• Check sell-by dates and pull expired stock for the manager
• Clean spills fast and put up wet-floor signs
• Build promotional displays at the ends of aisles
• Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
• Put up price tickets and promotion shelf strips

• Able to stand and lift cases all shift
• Polite with customers and happy to help
• Neat appearance and punctual
• Honest, since stock losses are checked closely
• Basic reading and maths for price checks

• Own transport for route merchandising jobs
• Some till or cash-handling experience

• Chance to move into till or department roles
• Travel allowance on merchandising routes
• Paid training in store procedures
