Shelf Packer (Supermarket, Weekend Shift)

Shoppers in Pretoria West judge a liquor store by its shelves, and that is where you come in. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a liquor store in Pretoria West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Unpack deliveries in the receiving area and sort by aisle
• Build promotional displays at the ends of aisles
• Check sell-by dates and pull expired stock for the manager
• Visit several stores on a merchandising route and send photos of shelves
• Weigh, bag and price fruit and vegetables
• Put up price tickets and promotion shelf strips
• Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars

• Basic reading and maths for price checks
• Polite with customers and happy to help
• Neat appearance and punctual
• Able to stand and lift cases all shift

• Own transport for route merchandising jobs
• Some till or cash-handling experience
• Being 18 or older for liquor store roles

• Chance to move into till or department roles
• Paid training in store procedures
• Staff discount on groceries
