SHEQ Officer (Building Contractor) – Experienced

You'll keep the site legal and the workers safe for the municipal infrastructure project in Rustenburg. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Rustenburg-based, with most of your time spent at a municipal infrastructure project.

• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work

• First Aid Level 1 at least
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer

• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Laptop and data for reporting
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
