SHEQ Officer (Building Contractor)

The road construction project in Rustenburg needs a safety officer who is on the site, not stuck in the container office. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a road construction project in Rustenburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014

• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• You write clear reports in English
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer

• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Laptop and data for reporting

• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
