SHEQ Officer (Building Contractor) – Experienced

Every person goes home in one piece. That is the job on this high-rise residential project in Sandton. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a high-rise residential project on the Sandton side of Gauteng. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily

• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• You write clear reports in English
• First Aid Level 1 at least

• Laptop and data for reporting
• Travel and site allowances
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD

• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
