Shift Supervisor (Guarding Contract)

You'll run a shift of officers at a residential estate in Johannesburg CBD, keeping posts covered and standards high. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a residential estate on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Meet the client weekly on security concerns

• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters

• Labour relations or basic supervision course
• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app
• Handgun competency for armed supervisor posts

• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
