Shift Supervisor (Guarding Contract)

You'll run a shift of officers at a retail portfolio in Kempton Park, keeping posts covered and standards high. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a retail portfolio on the Kempton Park side of Gauteng. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Investigate incidents and write reports for the client
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current

• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• Available after hours for emergencies
• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)
• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor

• Own reliable vehicle
• Mining or hospital security experience

• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles
• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Cellphone allowance
• Provident fund and funeral cover

• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
