Shift Supervisor (Underground Coal) – Immediate Start

Have a blasting certificate and a clean safety record? The underground coal colliery near Phalaborwa needs your crew leadership. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The work is in Phalaborwa, Limpopo, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Do the early entry examination and make the workplace safe before the crew enters
• Report misfires straight away and handle them strictly by the procedure
• Stop work when a condition is unsafe, using your right to withdraw
• Record face advance, tons broken and support installed on the shift report
• Bar down loose rock and install support to the section's support standard

• At least 3 years underground, with at least 1 as a certificated miner
• No serious safety transgressions in your record
• Sound knowledge of your commodity's mining method and support standards
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station, including heat tolerance screening where required
• Valid blasting certificate issued under the Mine Health and Safety Act

• Experience in trackless mechanised sections
• First aid certificate current

• Production bonus based on metres or square metres achieved
• Housing or living-out allowance
• Pension fund with employer contributions

• List each mine, commodity and mining method on your CV, like "conventional stoping, platinum, 4 years".
• Be honest about any section 54 stoppages you were involved in and what you changed after.
