Job Description

The residential renovation company in Mokopane needs skilled hands and helpers who know the basics of the building trade. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a residential renovation company on the Mokopane side of Limpopo.

What your day looks like

Plaster walls and float them to a smooth, even finish
Wear your hard hat, boots and harness wherever the foreman says
Prime and paint walls, ceilings and woodwork in two or three coats
Carry bricks and materials to the workface and keep the scaffold clear
Mix mortar and plaster to the right ratio for the job
Cut, bend and tie reinforcing steel to the bending schedule

Must-haves

Able to follow a foreman's instructions and read basic measurements
Understands basic site safety like scaffolds and open trenches
Proven experience in at least one trade, shown by references or a practical test
Willing to move between sites in the same city
Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside
Safety boots of your own for the first week, if possible

Extra points for

CETA or NQF 2 or 3 certificate in your trade
Experience on NHBRC-registered housing projects
Trade test in bricklaying, carpentry or plastering
