Site Labourer (Concrete Crew) – Experienced

Strong, willing hands are wanted on a townhouse construction site in Midrand. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Midrand-based, with most of your time spent at a townhouse construction site.

• Clear rubble and load it into skips
• Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
• Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
• Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
• Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
• Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines

• Grade 8 or higher
• You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
• A clean record is preferred for some government sites
• Prepared to travel between sites in the area

• Registered on your ward or municipal job-seeker database
• Some experience with a jackhammer, grinder or plate compactor

• Learn from artisans with a chance to move up to assistant
• Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days
• Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
• Paid weekly or fortnightly

• Government-funded projects often reserve jobs for people from the local ward. Bring proof of address and ask the site office about the local labour desk.
• List past sites by name and what you did there, like "mixed concrete, laid kerbs". It proves you have done real site work.
