Job Description

You'll mix, carry, dig and clean up so the tradespeople on a low-cost housing development in Midrand can keep building. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a low-cost housing development on the Midrand side of Gauteng.

What you'll actually do

Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer
Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor

Must-haves

Willing to start early, often at 06:30
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
Grade 8 or higher
Prepared to travel between sites in the area
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather

Helpful, not essential

Living near the site (many projects hire local labour)
A working-at-heights or scaffolding ticket
Previous site work you can show with a reference
