Job Description

Every wall and slab on this townhouse construction site in Pretoria East needs labourers, and the crew needs one more. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a townhouse construction site in Pretoria East. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

The work, day to day

Clear rubble and load it into skips
Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day

What you need

Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
Grade 8 or higher
Prepared to travel between sites in the area
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather

Nice if you have

Some experience with a jackhammer, grinder or plate compactor
A working-at-heights or scaffolding ticket
