Job Description

Keep the programme on track, the subbies busy and the site safe for the retail and commercial builder in Ermelo. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Ermelo-based, with most of your time spent at a retail and commercial builder. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection
Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
Plan the week's work from the construction programme and brief the gangs each morning
Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
Run toolbox talks and support the safety officer on Construction Regulations compliance

You'll need

Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act

Helpful, not essential

Worked on CIDB grade 6 or higher projects
