Site Safety Officer (Civil Projects)

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this renewable energy construction site in Kariega needs someone who can do all three well. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in Kariega, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time

• You write clear reports in English
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification

• ISO 45001 internal auditor course
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects

• Travel and site allowances
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Laptop and data for reporting
