Skills Development Facilitator (Learnerships)

You'll train adult learners at a corporate training academy in Mossel Bay and get them through their qualification. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Mossel Bay; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
• Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Moderate other assessors' decisions and sign off moderation reports
• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system

• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Good report writing and record keeping
• Own transport for training at client sites
• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach

• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Travel allowance or company car for site training

• Show your industry years separately from your training years; providers need both.
• Say which unit standards or occupational qualifications you're registered for; this decides where you can be used.
