Soft Skills Trainer (Corporate Academy)

Here your industry experience becomes lessons for the next group of learners, at a mining skills centre in Soweto. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Soweto. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
• Moderate other assessors' decisions and sign off moderation reports
• Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system
• Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners

• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Own transport for training at client sites
• Good report writing and record keeping
• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach

• Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
• Experience with QCTO occupational qualifications
• Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education

• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Travel allowance or company car for site training

• For TVET posts, attach your teaching qualification too, as colleges score it during shortlisting.
• Show your industry years separately from your training years; providers need both.
