Solar PV Installation Electrician – Experienced

The facilities management company in Kempton Park needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Kempton Park, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job

• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence

• Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
• N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test
• PLC and motor control experience from a factory setting

• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites
• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation

• If you have issued CoCs before, say how many and for what type of property.
