Spray Tractor Operator (Orchards)

Big machines, long days in season: a maize and soya farm near Stellenbosch needs a skilled operator. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a maize and soya farm on the Stellenbosch side of Western Cape.

• Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed
• Operate combine harvesters during harvest season
• Report breakdowns and help the mechanic with repairs
• Check oil, water, tyres and grease points before starting
• Haul cane, grain or fruit bins from field to shed

• Available to live on or near the farm
• Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons
• Basic understanding of implements and settings
• At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
• Reliable and sober on duty
• Can read job cards and spray instructions

• Overtime paid during planting and harvest
• Farm housing with water and electricity
• Training on new machinery
• Harvest bonus at season end

• List the machines you can drive and the implements you have used. Farmers want to know if you can plant, spray or harvest on day one.
• A reference from a previous farmer is gold. Ask for it before you leave any farm job.
