Staff Nurse (Night Shift) – Experienced

A private medical ward in Pretoria West needs someone kind and reliable to look after patients who can't manage alone. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The site is in Pretoria West; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Help patients walk, transfer from bed to chair and do their exercises
• Keep the fluid and food intake charts accurate for every patient
• Turn bed-bound patients on schedule and check pressure areas for early sores
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity
• Do simple wound dressings and report anything that looks infected
• Follow infection control rules, including hand hygiene and safe sharps disposal
• Keep families updated on routine matters and pass clinical questions to the sister

• Accredited home-based care or ancillary health care certificate for caregiver posts
• Physically strong enough to lift and move patients safely
• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• SANC enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for nursing posts
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends

• Paid training in dementia and end-of-life care
• Uniform supplied
• Transport home after late shifts at some facilities
