Job Description

Good, straight work gets noticed on this low-cost housing project in Bellville, and so does turning up every day. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a low-cost housing project in Bellville. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Build and strip formwork for columns, beams and slabs
Fix roof trusses, purlins and brandering for ceilings
Tile floors, showers and splashbacks, including cutting around fittings
Carry bricks and materials to the workface and keep the scaffold clear
Lay paving on a compacted, levelled bedding sand layer

You'll need

Able to follow a foreman's instructions and read basic measurements
Willing to move between sites in the same city
Punctual every morning, even in winter
Safety boots of your own for the first week, if possible

Nice if you have

CETA or NQF 2 or 3 certificate in your trade
Trade test in bricklaying, carpentry or plastering
