Stock Packer (Distribution Centre)

You'll keep a busy frozen-food distribution centre in Rustenburg stocked, picked and moving out on time. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The site is in Rustenburg; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight

• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• You can read product codes and count accurately

• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment
• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse

• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
