Stock Packer (Distribution Centre) – Permanent

You'll keep a busy building-supplies depot in Upington stocked, picked and moving out on time. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Upington (Northern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns

• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred

• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
