Stope Team Leader (Platinum Mine) – Fixed-Term

Have a blasting certificate and a clean safety record? The underground coal colliery near Burgersfort needs your crew leadership. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Burgersfort. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Stop work when a condition is unsafe, using your right to withdraw
• Book explosives in and out of the magazine and keep the register accurate
• Do the early entry examination and make the workplace safe before the crew enters
• Charge up holes and connect initiation systems for the blast
• Test for flammable gas and check ventilation before and after blasting

• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station, including heat tolerance screening where required
• No serious safety transgressions in your record
• At least 3 years underground, with at least 1 as a certificated miner
• Grade 12 or equivalent, plus the MQA-accredited miner training

• Shift Supervisor certificate or Mine Overseer learning
• First aid certificate current
• Rock engineering or ventilation short courses

• Pension fund with employer contributions
• Production bonus based on metres or square metres achieved
• Medical aid and mine medical station access

• Mines check your safety record with previous employers. Mention any safety awards or zero-harm periods your crew achieved.
• Write your blasting certificate number and date of issue near the top of the CV.
