Stope Team Leader (Platinum Mine)

Have a blasting certificate and a clean safety record? The underground platinum mine near Burgersfort needs your crew leadership. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Burgersfort, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Test for flammable gas and check ventilation before and after blasting
• Bar down loose rock and install support to the section's support standard
• Record face advance, tons broken and support installed on the shift report
• Clear the area, post guards and blast on time as the blasting certificate allows
• Stop work when a condition is unsafe, using your right to withdraw

• Sound knowledge of your commodity's mining method and support standards
• Able to lead a crew of 8 to 20 people in a language they understand
• At least 3 years underground, with at least 1 as a certificated miner
• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station, including heat tolerance screening where required

• Shift Supervisor certificate or Mine Overseer learning
• Experience in trackless mechanised sections
• Rock engineering or ventilation short courses

• Underground allowance for every shift below surface
• Pension fund with employer contributions
• Medical aid and mine medical station access

• List each mine, commodity and mining method on your CV, like "conventional stoping, platinum, 4 years".
• Write your blasting certificate number and date of issue near the top of the CV.
