Structural Repair Technician (Chassis Straightening)

This truck body repair workshop in Mbombela needs body repair skills that pass the insurer's quality check. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The work is in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth
• Fit new panels using spot welding and bonding methods
• Repair dents with hammers, dollies and a stud welder
• Pull and straighten chassis damage on a measuring jig
• Apply filler, sand and prime to a smooth, ready surface

• Knowledge of spray booth safety and respirator use
• Experience with modern waterborne or high-solids paint systems
• Physically able to stand, bend and kneel for long periods
• Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work
• Good colour vision and a steady hand

• Measuring jig and electronic measuring experience
• Experience as a workshop controller in a body shop
• Aluminium and high-strength steel repair training

• Clean, modern booth and prep area
• Paint supplier training courses
