Structural Repair Technician (Chassis Straightening)

You'll bring accident-damaged cars back to factory standard at the truck body repair workshop in Polokwane. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a truck body repair workshop in Polokwane. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Fit new panels using spot welding and bonding methods
• Repair dents with hammers, dollies and a stud welder
• Photograph repair stages for the insurance assessor
• Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth
• Mask up vehicles properly to keep overspray off glass and trim
• Mix paint colours with a spectrophotometer and the mixing scheme
• Cut and polish to remove dust marks and orange peel

• Good colour vision and a steady hand
• Able to work to insurer repair times and quality standards
• Physically able to stand, bend and kneel for long periods
• Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work

• Experience as a workshop controller in a body shop
• Measuring jig and electronic measuring experience
