Job Description

You'll keep servers, networks and cloud services up and secure for a manufacturing group with several sites in Roodepoort. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a manufacturing group with several sites on the Roodepoort side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Work with ISPs on link faults and fibre installs
Build and maintain virtual machines on Hyper-V, VMware or Azure
Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
Monitor servers, links and firewalls and act on alerts
Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills

Must-haves

Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
At least 3 years in systems, network or cloud administration
Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts
Degree or diploma in IT, plus relevant certifications

Extra points for

CCNA, Fortinet NSE or MikroTik certification
Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Wazuh
Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
