Tactical Response Officer (Night Shift)

You'll answer alarms across a suburban residential area in eMalahleni in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a suburban residential area in eMalahleni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren

• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course

• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background

• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Danger and night allowances
