Job Description

Returns, assessments and objections all land on your desk at a small tax practice in Montague Gardens. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Montague Gardens, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules
Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Keep client tax files complete for five years
Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims

Must-haves

At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
Comfortable handling tax season overtime
