Tax Practitioner (Individuals and Trusts)

You'll keep clients in good standing with SARS at a mid-tier accounting firm in Epping. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at a mid-tier accounting firm. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims
• Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
• Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
• Keep client tax files complete for five years
• Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
• Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE

• Neat, careful and organised with client documents
• Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
• Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
• Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
• Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
• At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience

• Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
• Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare

• Paid controlling body subscription
• Flexible hours outside filing season
• CPD hours paid by the firm
• Bonus at the end of filing season
