Tax Practitioner (Individuals and Trusts) – Immediate Start

A fiduciary and trust company in Kathu needs a tax practitioner who knows eFiling inside out. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Kathu-based, with most of your time spent at a fiduciary and trust company. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
• Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims
• Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
• Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
• Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
• Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
• Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims

• Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
• Neat, careful and organised with client documents
• Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
• Comfortable handling tax season overtime
• Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
• Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act

• Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
• Postgraduate diploma in tax
• Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax

• Flexible hours outside filing season
