Job Description

Returns, assessments and objections all land on your desk at a mid-tier accounting firm in Lephalale. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

What you'll actually do

Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
Keep client tax files complete for five years
Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims
Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time

You'll need

Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Comfortable handling tax season overtime
Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
