Tea Lady / Office Cleaner – Fixed-Term

Early starts, clear routines and a steady contract at a government office building in East London. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is in East London (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Mix cleaning chemicals at the dilution shown on the label, never by guesswork
• Sign the ablution checklist on the back of the door after each clean
• Report broken fittings, leaks or empty stock to the site supervisor
• Run a scrubber-dryer machine on large tiled areas
• Set up and clear boardrooms before and after meetings
• Wipe desks, door handles, lift buttons and light switches

• Comfortable using cleaning chemicals safely with gloves
• Honest, because you work around laptops and personal items
• Able to start early, often 05:00 or 06:00
• You take pride in a job done properly, even when nobody checks

• Tea service or kitchen experience
• Training on a floor polisher or scrubber machine

• Uniform and cleaning gloves provided
• Permanent contract once the site contract is secured
• UIF and paid leave under the cleaning sector rules

• Ask a former supervisor if you can put their number on your CV. Cleaning contractors almost always phone a reference.
• Mention any machines you can use, like a scrubber or polisher. Machine cleaners are harder to find and often get picked first.
