Tea Lady / Office Cleaner – Fixed-Term

You'll keep a shopping centre in Gqeberha clean, stocked and fresh before the people arrive. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a shopping centre on the Gqeberha side of Eastern Cape. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Mix cleaning chemicals at the dilution shown on the label, never by guesswork
• Report broken fittings, leaks or empty stock to the site supervisor
• Empty bins and take waste to the correct recycling or general skip
• Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors following the daily cleaning schedule
• Refill toilet paper, hand towel and soap dispensers
• Clean and disinfect toilets, basins and urinals several times a shift
• Run a scrubber-dryer machine on large tiled areas

• Able to start early, often 05:00 or 06:00
• Grade 10 or higher
• Clean criminal record for most corporate sites
• Honest, because you work around laptops and personal items
• Comfortable using cleaning chemicals safely with gloves
• You take pride in a job done properly, even when nobody checks

• Tea service or kitchen experience
• Chemical handling training from a supplier or contractor
• Supervisory experience for team leader posts

• Permanent contract once the site contract is secured
• Uniform and cleaning gloves provided
• UIF and paid leave under the cleaning sector rules

• Mention any machines you can use, like a scrubber or polisher. Machine cleaners are harder to find and often get picked first.
• List each site you have cleaned (office, mall, school) and how long you stayed. Contractors want people who stick with a site.
