Team Leader (Automotive Production Line)

Quality and speed go together at this exhaust and catalytic converter plant in Pretoria East. You'll be part of that. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Pretoria East-based, with most of your time spent at an exhaust and catalytic converter plant. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears
• Keep your station clean using 5S rules
• Take part in kaizen ideas to improve your station
• Load and unload robotic welding cells safely
• Record production counts and scrap on the shift board

• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
• Grade 12 certificate
• Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift
• Able to stand for a full shift and do repeat tasks without losing focus
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights

• Previous experience in an automotive plant
• NQF 2 in Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly through merSETA

• Include any factory or line work you have done, even outside the car industry. It shows you can handle shift work.
