Job Description

Winter fire season is near, and a fire protection association near White River needs crews ready. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The site is in White River; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

What you'll actually do

Stack logs by length for loading onto trucks
Fell, debranch and cross-cut trees with a chainsaw
Fight veld fires with beaters and water packs under a crew leader
Feed logs into sawmill machines and stack planks
Clear and maintain firebreaks during the dry season

What you need

Physically strong and fit for steep slopes
Willing to work in remote areas
Available for early starts and fire-season standby
Valid ID

Helpful, not essential

Chainsaw operator certificate
Fire fighting training
First-aid training
