TLB Operator (Civil Works) – Experienced

The plant hire company in Ballito needs an operator who looks after the machine as well as the job. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a plant hire company on the Ballito side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Load tipper trucks without spillage or overloading
• Watch for underground services and follow the banksman's signals
• Dig trenches for pipes and cables to the depth and grade set by the surveyor
• Compact layers with the roller until density tests pass
• Record machine hours and fuel on the daily plant sheet
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away

• Good depth perception and no history of machine accidents
• Willing to work on projects outside your home town
• Valid Code 10 licence for moving machines on public roads
• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider
• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites

• Basic plant maintenance or mechanical knowledge
• PrDP for tipper or lowbed work

• Refresher training on new machines
• Travel home paid at the end of each site shift cycle
• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week

• You will likely do a practical test on the machine. Do the walk-around check out loud. It shows you work safely.
• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
