TLB Operator (Civil Works)

The road construction contractor in Tembisa needs an operator who looks after the machine as well as the job. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The site is in Tembisa; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
• Do the pre-start checklist on your machine before the first bucket
• Watch for underground services and follow the banksman's signals
• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
• Backfill and compact around pipes in layers

• Can read grade pegs and understand cut and fill
• Valid Code 10 licence for moving machines on public roads
• Good depth perception and no history of machine accidents
• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider
• Willing to work on projects outside your home town

• GPS machine control experience on excavators or graders
• Basic plant maintenance or mechanical knowledge

• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites
• Refresher training on new machines
• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week

• List each machine with its size, for example "20-ton excavator, 4 years". Plant managers match you to the machine they need.
