Tracking Control Room Agent (Vehicle Recovery)

You'll watch the screens and radios at a shopping mall security office in Pretoria East, and send help the moment something is wrong. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll report in Pretoria East. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians

• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts

• Speaking more than one local language
• CCTV operator short course
• Call centre work in the past

• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Training on the monitoring software
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Shift allowance for nights

• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
